Although not primarily designed for this purpose, all ABACUS active loudspeakers are very popular in the studio. Based on these experiences, ABACUS has now developed something new that is designed for exactly this purpose, but also has its advantages for listening to music...
Based on the Cortex-Elektronik and some well-known and new chassis, the optimal equipment and configuration was developed in the laboratory. A frequency response with a deviation of no more than +-1dB from under 30Hz to just under 20kHz was achieved early on. The Cortex-Elektronik was significantly upgraded and adapted for the new purpose.
Features:
3-way studio monitor box, fully active
Left and right side of the box mirrored accordingly
4 ABACUS Dolifet power amplifier modules of the latest generation
DSP-based, internal signal processing (for crossover and frequency response smoothing)
DSP can also be programmed for room adaptation via external USBi interface
Continuous control options for
Input gain (-6dB to +6dB
High shelf (-3dB to +3dB above 1kHz)
Bass pad (-8dB to +2dB below 100Hz)
Bass roll-off (16Hz to 80Hz)
Electronics based on the ABACUS Cortex electronics with a few changes:
Larger heat sink
Additional controller
120VA toroidal transformer
Enlarged base board in 4-layer construction
Larger and thicker aluminum plate
Elaborately improved automatic switch-on
